Diamond N Ranch was created with the end goal in mind of bringing premium quality Black Angus beef from ranch to home cutting out the “middle man” and the carbon footprint big industrial grain-based feedlot operations leave. Having been raised on “home grown” pasture raised beef, Randy Neufeld owner of Diamond N Ranch, was shocked at the bland flavor, and fatty beef that was carried in local grocery stores while attending Texas Tech University. After Graduating from Texas Tech with a BBA in Finance and International Business, he knew he wanted to expand on the land his family had been farming for over a decade. He bought some registered Black Angus cows and a bull and planted 60 acres of grass with the vision of one day opening up a small meat market with grass fed hormone and antibiotic free Black Angus beef superior to anything that was offered in any massive grocery store. At the time only knowing that “grass fed” beef was superior in not just taste but also in leanness to anything offered in grocery stores he started researching the health benefits of “grass fed” beef and was shocked that he hadn’t known nor was it ever talked about or taught. His mission changed from wanting to not only offer premium Black Angus quality beef to consumers, but also to educate people on the incredible health benefits offered by eating grass fed beef.

Diamond N Ranch, was established in 2006, and has now grown to include 250 acres of grass and over 180 head of Black Angus cows and bulls. The cattle we have selected to bring into our herd are “grass fed” cattle meaning they have only ever had grass, and are raised to grow and thrive in a free range natural grazing environment. Basically said we are raising and selecting cattle to be like they used to be and not like the non-energy efficient cattle of today that require massive amounts of high protein feed to stay fat. We breed cattle that are energy efficient, almost like selecting a car or truck that gets you further on a tank of gas.

The “ranch to consumer movement” now is more important than ever with meat recalls, high energy costs and the need for healthier foods. We have quality control over our beef from the second our calves are born until we sell the beef to you; can your local super sized grocery store say the same?
